Responsibilities:
- Job Summary:
- Reporting to the Director Medical Services, the role holder is responsible for providing expert
- medical care to infants, children, and adolescents, diagnosing and treating a wide range of
- pediatric conditions, and supporting preventive healthcare initiatives. The role involves managing
- complex cases, collaborating with other specialists, and mentoring junior medical staff and
- contributing to research and education in the field of Pediatrics.
- Patient Care:
- Conduct consultations, evaluations, and thorough assessments of pediatric patients
- Diagnose and treat acute, chronic, and complex medical conditions in children
- Prescribe and manage medications, therapies, and interventions tailored to each child’s needs
- Perform and supervise procedures specific to pediatric care.
- Monitor patients’ progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
- Preventive Care:
- Provide guidance on childhood vaccinations, nutrition, growth, and development milestones.
- Educate families on preventive care, early warning signs, and management of common pediatric illnes
- Collaboration and Multidisciplinary Care:
- Work closely with other specialists, such as surgeons, endocrinologists, and neonatologists, for
- integrated care.
- Refer patients to other medical professionals or specialists when required
- Emergency Care:
- Respond to pediatric emergencies, stabilize patients, and manage critical care cases.

- In-depth knowledge and expertise in plastic and the treatment of pediatric conditions.
- Ability to make informed and timely decisions regarding treatment plans, considering individual
- patient needs and complexities.

- nature of infant disorders.

Requirements:
- Master of Medicine in General Surgery or its equivalent, with sub-specialty training in Pediatrics recognized by the Kenya Medical Practitioners’ and Dentists’ Council.
- Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery degree from an institution recognized by Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council
- Served for a minimum period of five (5) years relevant work, three (3) of which should have been in administrative position
- Valid Practice License from the Kenya Medical Practitioners’ and Dentists’ Council
